We offer flexible curriculum to enrich students' academic skills in the field of English, Math, and Science. The Visual Performing Arts (VPA) is one of our focus as well. # AP Program The College Board's Advanced Placement Program enables students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. Thirty-five courses in 20 subject areas are offered. Based on their performance on rigorous AP Exams, students can earn credit, advanced placement, or both, for college. AP can change your life. Through college-level AP course, you enter a universe of knowledge that might otherwise remain unexplored in high school; through AP Exams, you have the opportunity to earn credit or advanced standing at most of the nation's colleges and universities. With 35 courses and exams across 20 subject areas, AP offers something for everyone. The only requirements are a strong curiosity about the subject you plan to study and the willingness to work hard.
# SAT Reasoning Test Prep The SAT Reasoning Test is a measure of the critical thinking skills you'll need for academic success in college. The SAT assesses how well you analyze and solve problems - skills you learned in school that you'll need in college. The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. Each section of the SAT is scored on a scale of 200 - 800, with two writing subscores for multiple-choice and the essay. It is administered seven times a year in the U.S., Puerto, and U.S. Territories, and six times a year overseas. A high score on the SAT is a crucial component to achieve academic success, whether for acceptance into a particular college or university, or for attaining scholarships. # SAT Subject Tests Prep Subject Tests (formerly SAT II: Subject Tests) are designed to measure your knowledge and skills in particular areas, as well as your ability to apply that knowledge. Students take the Subject Tests to demonstrate to colleges their mastery of specific subjects like English, history, mathematics, science, and language. The tests are independent of any particular textbook or method of instruction. The tests' content evolves to reflect current trends in high school curricula, but the types of questions change little from year to year.
# PSAT/NMSQT Prep The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a co-sponsored program by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). PSAT/NMSQT stands for Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT Reasoning Test. It also gives you a chance to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation(NMSC) scholarship programs. The PSAT/NMSQT measures: Critical Reading Skills, Math Problem-Solving Skills, and Writing Skills.
# TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language Prep The Test of English as a Foreign Language measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings. The TOEFL test is a requirement for admission into colleges and universities where instruction is in English. In addition, many government, licensing, and certification agencies, and exchange and scholarship programs use TOEFL scores to evaluate the English proficiency of people for whom English is not their native language.
# ESL - English as a Second Language Studying English can be both fund and rewarding. Maybe you have never spoken English before. Perhaps you need university-level training in listening, reading, writing, speaking, and TOEFL preparation. We have an Intensive English program especially designed for you. Our ESL classes prepare beginning, intermediate, and advanced English students for a lifetime of rewarding and enriching experiences. Our curriculum emphasizes real-life situations. Our teaching methods ensure you'll learn quickly. We use an eclectic teaching approach, and draw from the latest techniques in Intensive English instruction. You will begin speaking English from the very first day of class.
# Arts Program Irvine Education Academy is also an amazing art space that provides kids with the opportunity to explore the arts hands-on through drawing, painting, and crafts in our center. Kids will learn how to draw from real objects or your imagination. A healthy imagination not only creates a resourceful and productive individual, but also builds self confidence, a significant factor which affects the individual's ability to learn in all areas of education and one that lasts for his or her entire life. When a child creates a work of art, they are not just drawing a picture, they are engaing in self expression and, moreover, the creation of self esteem and individuality.
# CSTs - California Standards Tests The California Standards Tests in English-language arts, mathematics, science, and history-social science are administered only to students in California public schools. Except for a writing component that is administered as part of the grade four and seven English-language arts tests, all questions are multiple choice. These tests were developed specifically to assess students' knowledge of the California content standards. The State Board of Education adopted these standards that specify what all California children are expected to know and be able to do in each grade or course.
# CAT/6 - California Achievement Tests, Sixth Edition Students in grades 2 through 11 were tested in reading, language, and mathematics. Students in grades 2 through 8 were also tested in spelling. Students in grades 9 through 11 were tested in science. The purpose of adminisering the CAT/6 Survey is to determine how well each California student is achieving academically compared to a national sample of students tested in the same grade at the same time of the school year.
# Summer Academic Enrichment Camp & SAT Boot Camp Learning is one of the things that children do best. And so it is upon this premise that we have, in the past and every summer, built an exciting program for students in 1st through 11th grade.
